Hawkhurst House, part of the Graham Care Group, is a newly built home that provides a "relationship centred care" in an environment different from a traditional nursing home. They have the Care Suite concept where residents have the unique benefits of having a:

    • social space with comfortable seats so that residents’ families and friends can spend good quality time together in privacy and comfort
    • dining space so that residents can enjoy their meals in their own room, if they wish
    • kitchenette so that residents and their guests can prepare drinks and snacks

The Home opens its doors in March 2018 and as with many care providers the biggest challenge is finding registered nurses to deliver the care residents need. Ernie Graham, the owner of Hawkhurst House, was not exempt from this and so relied on agency nurses which was costing him £1,218 per nurse a week. He then engaged IANS on 25 April 2018 to overcome a very expensive reliance on agency nurses and IANS guaranteed 8 registered nurses will work on their floors within 8 weeks.

"I guess with your sales pitch, people think you are either brilliant or a con artist... there is always a risk and we are always presented with something that seems too good to be true."    ~ Ernie Graham

On 20 June 2018, (5 days short of the promised 8 week period to deliver) IANS have successfully recruited 8 registered nurses (with active NMC pin numbers) and were all working on the floor as promised. It's  a common knowledge and experience that it takes a minimum of 8 months to recruit nurses from outside the UK. This is of course the case because of the complexity of UKVI's immigration rules and the registration process set by Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for foreign nurses. Given that IANS managed to fill my 8 vacancies within 8 weeks means they saved me around £175,392.00 on agency cost had I waited 8 months to recruit them using another recruitment agency. This does not take into account the savings that will follow in the next 3 years as these nurses have been employed under a 3 year contract.

We asked Ernie: "What would you say to somebody who is not sure about whether to start working with IANS?" and his response was:

"Nurses are evidence-based practitioners and should never do anything unless they have checked that it is evidence based.  As such I’d say like we did the best way to start is to do a project, check outcomes, assess the all around efficacy of the approach and what I suspect you will find is that IANS can help your business and make a positive contribution to your company in terms of staffing needs. I am not aware of any business who has expertise in immigration, OSCE training and recruitment, all combined under one service and really effective in delivering recruitment of international nurses on time"
