THE UK IS NOW OPEN FOR TRAVEL - RESTRICTIONS REMOVED FOR FULLY VACCINATED PASSENGERS!

">

On 11 February 2022, starting at 04:00 GMT, fully vaccinated travelers, including those under 18 years old, are no longer required to take a lateral flow test two days after their arrival in Northern Island, Wales, Scotland, or England.

The relaxation of travel restrictions can also be felt by travelers who are not fully vaccinated. Contrary to previous rules, self-isolation and lateral flow testing 8 days after arrival is not mandatory for those who have not received a full dose of their vaccine. However, these travelers must present a negative covid test two days before their travel, and they must take a PCR test two days after arrival. Only if the PCR test comes out positive are they required to self-isolate.

Along with the announcement, the transport secretary also revealed that England will be recognising vaccinations from most countries, including China, come 11 February 2022.

These changes do not exempt passengers from filling their passenger locator form before they arrive in the UK.

What this Means to Travelers and UK Sponsors

On 15 May 2021, the UK first introduced “quarantine hotels” for passengers traveling from red list countries.

The 10-day quarantine policy applies to all adults and children from high-risk areas, which is defined by the UK’s traffic light system. The cost associated with this is carried by either the UK sponsor or the migrant, depending on contract details and arrangements.

Those who fail to follow this safety protocol are subject to penalties of up to £10,000. See below to check quarantine rates:

Average quarantine costs based on gov.uk

Inclusion

Rates

1 adult; 1 room for 10 days (11 nights)

£2,285

Additional rate for 1 adult/child over 11

£1,430

Additional rate for a child aged 5 to 11

£325

**children below 5 are exempt from any hotel/quarantine fees**

New travel policies make these quarantine fees irrelevant. Aside from the amended travel rules for fully and partially vaccinated travelers, there is currently NO COUNTRY under the UK red list, which means that UK sponsors and migrants are freed from the burden of paying expensive quarantine hotel fees.

Another real benefit of planning for travel now is that migrants do not need to spend 10 days in quarantine, allowing fast and easy deployment. This is especially important in the healthcare sector, where demand significantly rises, and workforce shortage continues to widen. Through this new travel policy, migrants can start work as soon as they arrive if they are fully vaccinated. If, on the other hand, they are not fully vaccinated, they can begin work as soon as their PCR result comes out negative.
