Andres Balod

Care Assistant, Philippines

“It was very early on in life that I realised that I had a passion for caring. A yearning to help people live their everyday lives. I was thrust into a life of caring as a nurse early on in Philippines, marrying roles as a covid agent. It was around this time I realised I had a very special set of skills I could bring to the UK.

It all began through a conversation with a friend who introduced me to IANS, which led me to their website. Reading the stories of the candidates felt genuine and I could relate to them and that convinced me to join the webinar. I was simply taken aback by the level of information provided.

It was such a wonderful experience attending the webinar, it was informative and explained very clearly the path and the list of things I would need to tick one by one. I got through my interview on the 4th attempt, I was patient and never gave up hope. I received my sponsorship offer in just a couple of months.

Like most people I had reservations at first, but now that I am in the UK, reflecting back, I know I made the right decision and so should you. Had I not taken that leap of faith, things would have turned out very differently. I plan on bringing my daughter soon after and work towards a beautiful life here on the UK and I have only IANS to thank for."
