“Straight from the Philippines to Dubai, and now Dubai to London, I didn’t just change locations. I also went through a swift career transition. I’ve been working in the UAE as a hairstylist for 5 years, but despite working in an industry I love, I felt like something was missing. I’m nearly 30 years old, and I still can’t make definite plans about my future. I know it’s impossible to secure a permanent residence in Dubai, so I often asked myself, ‘What’s next?’.
I got my answer when I attended IANS’ webinar last April. I always knew living in the UK would give me stability and security, but I didn’t know where to start. Luck played its part when I came across Ria’s YouTube video. She’s the 1st senior carer that made it to the UK through IANS’ momentum club, so I thought to myself, if she can do it, I can, too!
All my friends doubted me because I had no healthcare background. But in just 4-6 months, IANS transformed me into an eligible and suitable senior carer. They didn’t just give me the knowledge and experience I need, but they also helped me fully understand my role and what it means for the people I’ll care for. For someone who had no grandparents growing up, being a senior carer filled the empty pieces of my childhood.
Now, I’m in the UK, enjoying every part of being a senior carer. Because of IANS’ one-stop solutions, my life tremendously changed in less than 6 months. Everything I learned from our learning sessions and work placement, I’m now able to apply in my new journey here in the UK. I took a leap of faith, and now I’m off to a new chapter. I owe it all to IANS."
